These documents are not publications of the WCG, but have been traditionally used in the Church of God over many years and provide interesting supplemental information about the history of the Church of God.

EXTRA PROGRAMS:

THE BIBLE HYMNAL:
All 128 pages of hymns of the WCG Bible Hymnal are saved as MIDI files. If you have an audio card in your computer, you can copy the files to your PC, or run them directly from this CD. MIDI files are not compatible with a normal audio CD player, so these files will only play on a CD drive installed on a computer with a sound card.

In addition, images of the actual Hymnal pages are saved on the CD. These images are stored in compressed TIF format, a format that should be readable by many graphics programs. You may read the image on your screen or print it on your ink jet or laser printer. Each image is saved at 300 dpi for quality reproduction.

If your graphics program can not read these files, this CD contains a popular graphics program named "Paint Shop Pro" that can read these compressed TIF files. Each page of the Bible Hymnal is also saved in a large-print format for those who have vision difficulties. This version of the Hymnal was prepared by removing all of the musical notes and leaving only the lyrics. The lyrics have been preserved exactly as the original edition of the Bible Hymnal, with all the breaks and pauses. The only difference is that the size of the lyrics have been enlarged to fill the entire page so it is easier to read.

WCG LITERATURE INDEX:
If you have a large number of back issues of the publications of the WCG, to assist you in locating an article of interest, an index of all the Plain Truth articles from 1934 - 1994, all the Good News articles from 1951 - 1990, and all the Tomorrow's World articles from 1969 - 1972 is also located on this CD.

This index lists all the articles in subject order to help you locate an article on a particular subject. This index is available in DBF (dBaseIII+), XLS (Excel), and TXT (ascii) format. Open the index in a compatible program of your choice and search for an article of interest. If you don't have the issue needed, hopefully you will be able to locate the issue desired in your Church library, your personal library, a friend's library, or in future CD-ROMs.

HEBREW CALENDAR PROGRAM:
This CD also contains a shareware program that calculates the Hebrew calendar eqivalent of the Roman calendar dates for the years 1900 to 2099. This program can be run directly from the CD-ROM or may be copied to your hard drive.

HOLY DAYS CALCULATOR:
This program, provided as freeware by Ambassador College, calculates the Holy Days, according to the methods Mr. Armstrong taught us, for the years 3761 B.C. to 2034 A.D. This program can be run directly from the CD-Rom or may be copied to your hard drive.

NATIONAL GENEALOGY CHARTS:
Genealogy charts showing the national descendants of Ham, Shem, Japeth and Abraham are also provided on this CD. These charts were prepared by Ministers of the WCG based upon the research of Dr. Hoeh and were published in the Church of God News, Chicago District in 1965, a WCG authorized publication. These charts are handy to use to locate the modern-day identities of these nations. These files are saved in compressed TIF format and should be able to be viewed in any graphics program. If your graphics program can not read these files, you may install the shareware program Paint Shop Pro.

JOSEPHUS INDEX:
An index of "The Works of Josephus" prepared by Ambassador College is provided on this CD. This index is helpful to locate a particular topic within the books by Josephus. Due to special formatting requirements, it has been saved in Microsoft Word 6.0 format, and should be readable by any advanced word processor or Windows Wordpad.

THE WORKS OF JOSEPHUS AND PHILO:
Full-text editions of 'The Works of Josephus' and 'The Works of Philo' are on this CD. These files are not searchable by DT Search due to their special formatting and the Greek and Hebrew fonts used. But, you may open these documents with your favorite word processor and search them with the "Find" feature. The appropriate Greek and Hebrew fonts are also included on this CD.

PLAIN TRUTH MAGAZINE COVERS:
Color images of various Plain Truth covers are saved on this CD for use in a slide show program, or any program of your choice that will read JPG files

The covers included for the Plain Truth start in Feb. 1965 through Dec. 1969 (59 in total). These are all the color covers for the 1960's. More covers will be added at a later date as time permits.

Technical Things:

All of the above documents are saved in plain ASCII Text format and are compiled in a free search utility, DTSearch.

DTSearch is a 16-bit Windows application. It will run in Windows95, Windows98, WindowsME, Windows 2000, WindowsNT (3.5x, 4 or 5), Windows 3.x, and DOS. It will not run on a native Macintosh system without a Windows emulator program. See the README.TXT file on the CD for more specific directions. Native Macintosh systems will be able to read the README.TXT file directly from the CD-ROM.

You may run DTSearch directly from the CD-ROM disk to save disk space, or you may install it to your hard drive so you will not have to have the CD-ROM disk in your disk drive to use the program. Search performance will be faster if you install it to your hard drive. The minimum hard drive space necessary is 40 - 50 megabytes. Detailed installation instructions are in the README.TXT file on the CD.
